Yesterday, I had downloaded JoytoKey from CNet, and after downloading, I had gotten a command prompt window using TaskKill.exe, and a near force restart (I was able to stop it by cancelling before it restarted.) I immediately did scans with Avast and Malwarebytes with no luck. I did a boot-time scan with Avast and it caught a few trojans and PUPs. When I booted up my User, on the bottom left corner before it loaded explorer.exe, it said that I wasn't using a genuine copy of Windows. I had Windows pre-installed on this laptop and I thought I had taken care of registering it before I could even boot up the computer for the first time.
Things seem to be running fine right now, I'm able to access applications and the internet from this computer, but I feel like there could be more going on than what I'm seeing. I originally thought that the target virus was inside Wajam, as I never installed the program before. But it's still here and nothing has happened so far. I guess I just want to be sure I got rid of what was attacking my computer yesterday along with whatever else there is. Thank you for looking into this.*Moderator Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Queen-Evie*
