So my step-sons' friend has a Gaming headset that can be used for the PC / Xbox / PS3 and he tripped over the cord ripping it from the USB plug. I pried open the casing but there wasn't enough wire left to the solder points to make heads or tails of what wire is for what (+/- 5v, tx/rc). But the biggest kicker is that these aren't your 'normal' wire colors. Every wire is not insulated, which in itself is throwing me off, and are copper plus a striped color twisted together. Any ideas on which wire is which and how I can connect these to a regular usb end with black, white, red, green wires? Heres an image of what I have

If you can provide the make and model of the headset I will see what I can find. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Yeah that was the first route I tried. The tech support guy told me they had no idea and would try to get the schematic from the manufacturer but he said that it was very unlikely. Any other ideas?

I had my suspicions that this wouldn't be helpful. Sorry.Posted Image
