To any of the forum members who use the VPN service TunnelBear, do you experience just the domain yahoo.com being inaccessible? Sub domains like answers.yahoo.com and the foreign partner yahoo.co.jp are still accessible.

This has been going on for more than a week, while TunnelBear has been in use for months. I assumed it was an infection, scanned my PC with MalwareBytes, and it found/removed a RootKit. Yahoo became accessible again for a few hours then relapsed. I didn't save the scan log, so I don't remember the Rootkit's name. I've already received help in the "Am I infected? What do I do?" section; the person helping me found nothing malicious from my scan logs:

Cannot access yahoo.com directly.

Some reminisce of the Rootkit must have survived and rebuilt itself (just my guess). Weirdly enough, I can access yahoo.com with TunnelBear off, but I sort of need the proxy to access the internet; it's complicated. Plus, if using a proxy website (anonymouse.org is what I used) is access yahoo.com, I can get through. Any thoughts on this?
