Hello,
I wanted to add my own Full & Empty icons to the Recycle Bin.Not some from shell32.dll or others on the computer. The Large & Small MediPacks from TR2.
I named the large-- Full.icoThe small-- Empty.icoI copied & pasted them into C:\Windows\System32I used regedit to Modify the 3 strings in Default Icon.Which is here:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\DefaultIcon
I set the strings as--

Default --- %SystemRoot%\System32\Empty.ico,0

empty --- %SystemRoot%\System32\Empty.ico,0
full--- %SystemRoot%\System32\Full.ico,0
I closed the Registry & they had changed to these:

Default --- %SystemRoot%\System32\Full.ico,0empty --- %SystemRoot%\System32\Empty.ico,0full--- %SystemRoot%\System32\Full.ico,0
I didn't fool with changing them back because the icons worked.
In the following pictures the order is the first above.I guess the computer will change the order to suit itself. But the process does work.I am using Windows 8.This works for Windows 7 too.Others I don't know.See pictures:

EDIT--- The add_icons.zip can be downloaded here--- http://www.fileden.com/files/2012/12/30/3381771/add_icons.zip

Put it in a folder & extract there. The only thing in it is the dll file with the tombraider small & large medi paks for using as recycle bin icons that automatically refresh when emptied or something is added.
