I use 64-bit windows 7.

I recently got infected with a Trojan:JS/Medfos virus. I looked up a tutorial on how to get rid of it, and it said to use Combofix. I didn't know that it was such a dangerous program or anything- I only found this out when I looked into the program online later! Well, it appears I ran into some good luck, and combofix got rid of the virus. When I tried to type combofix /uninstall in 'Run', though, it said that windows could not find combofix! I searched the entire computer for combofix.exe, but found nothing. There is a Qoobox folder with some things in it in the C drive, but nothing more.

I don't remember saving combofix.exe to anywhere. I think I just ran it.

I've heard that the thing to do is download combofix.exe again and save it to the desktop- not run it- and uninstall it through that. However, since I now know about the damage the program has caused, I don't want to push my luck.

What do I do? I still have the log, if that's needed.

Never mind! I did what I said above, and it worked fine. The Qoobox folder is gone.
