Hello,

I have a 5 year old Acer Aspire 5100, and the mouse (both the hand held and mouse pad on the console)has stopped working. I also cannot see my CD/DVD drive, only the C: drive. I can get around in there a little bit by using the tab button. I have avast free version for anti-virus. I have done a system restore to a month ago, and it did not restore my mouse or CD/DVD. Any thoughts? I may not be able to figure out a hijack log without using the mouse but will give it a try if need be. I am on my newer computer composing this while glaring at the Acer beside me.

Hi

Do you have another mouse that you can use on the computer?

yes, but that did not work either. The drivers are showing as working properly. But since the touch pad thing is down too, I suspect they are not.

Is it a USB mouse?
What happens when the other mouse is inserted?
Please describe this in detail.
