Hello. I have recently opened a topic in another part of the forum and run through a number of processes with the help of a team member. IE TDSSKiller, MBAM, FSS, Minitoolbox, etc. And the issue has not been solved. Though a number of Trojans was removed during this process. In light of this, i have been asked to download, run and post the logs from DDS to here and will also supply a link to the topic i have mentioned .

TOPIC: HERE

Please find a zipped attachment of both log files.

The present issue is outlined in the previous post, however, should you need any elaboration to this, please do request so.

Thank you for any assistance.

Hi Aperson,

I have taken a look at the original topic and Dev sent you here because you had run Combofix and is unable to help you further in that forum. I don't think you have malware looking at the logs on that topic - other than a few pieces of adware and infected files probably from P2P usage.

So this is just a precautionary check.

Please download and run Combofix

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop making sure you rename it comfix.exe
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications including Firewalls, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. (Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive.)
  • Double click on Comfix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Posted Image

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

If you receive the message "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion." then please reboot the system.

Here is the log. There was no recovery console prompt during the process. ComboFIX run as normal and deleted two files after a scan was completed. Here is the log:

I don't see any issues on the machine from here. The tools have been deployed well on the other topic so I'm happy to give you a clean bill of health. Are there any other symptoms on the machine that I need to know about?

Not that i can recall at this time. Just the issue that i can not watch recorded videos from my own online library in livestream studio and i can not watch shows on websites that use livestream. It is a strange issue when the play and pause button is flickering and can not be clicked and furthermore, when it is effecting both computers and no one else has this problem and it is something i have been doing for a number of years. I am no newbie to this. Something is going on because a process is not working that should be and the issue started the very same day that conduit infected my PC.

It is driving me mad <_<

Please run adwCleaner again so we can make sure nothing else is coming up that is linked to Conduit. Download link if you need it has been added.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Search.
  • A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.
  • Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[R1].txt as well.

Ok.m0le. Here is the log from that. I see Conduit still resides on my PC, albeit in not quite the harmful degree it did before.

OMG -m0le. After runing delete with AdwCleaner i wanted to look in c/users/My name/appsdata so i had to select "Show hidden filders" i deleted some manually myself because they belonged to softs i no longer have installed, etc.

Now, the issue with the DJ sites has gone. The PC is back to normal again. I can not say if it was the manual removal or AdwCleaner, or both that fixed it. But i can say this: Whatever the file was (Conduit related) it was causing bad issue with browsing . I am going to check my laptop next and see what is going on there, too. I will report back. But can be sure that all is now fixed

Cheerz.

It was a mixture of manual and tool removal. I overlooked the Conduit at first as it isn't always counted as adware but it is increasingly being considered to be software that is being downloaded as a bundle without permission and is causing browser and operating problems.

Hi, m0le. Thank you for the help. And you are right about Conduit. I never agreed for that to be installed and even de-selected it during steps. It is the worse junkware i have ever had. Most others can be deleted inside Google extensions settings, but that thing refuses to die and acts like a leach ; Leachware :lmao:

Lap top is working fine now as well. Topic can now close.

Thanks again.

You're welcome.

You're clean. Good stuff! :thumbup2:

Let's do some clearing up

If you used DeFogger now is the time to enable your CD emulation software again.

Uninstall ComboFix

Remove Combofix now that we're done with it.
  • Please press the Windows Key and R on your keyboard. This will bring up the Run... command.
(For Vista/Windows 7 please click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run)
  • Now type in Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. (Notice the space between "Combofix" and "/")
  • Please follow the prompts to uninstall Combofix.
  • You will then receive a message saying Combofix was uninstalled successfully once it's done uninstalling itself.
This will uninstall Combofix and anything associated with it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's some advice on how you can keep your PC clean

Use and update your AntiVirus Software

You must have a good antivirus. There are plenty to choose from but I personally recommend the free options of Avast and Avira Antivir - though if you choose Avira you should make sure that you uncheck the box offering to install the Ask toolbar. If you want to purchase a security program then I recommend any of the following: AVG, Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky and ESET Nod32.

It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out. If you use a commercial antivirus program you must make sure you keep renewing your subscription. Otherwise, once your subscription runs out, you may not be able to update the programs virus definitions.

Make sure your applications have all of their updates

Use this next program to check for updates for programs already on your system. Download Security Check by screen317 from here
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically, make sure that updates on any that are flagged are carried out as soon as possible

It is also possible for other programs on your computer to have security vulnerability that can allow malware to infect you. Therefore, it is also a good idea to check for the latest versions of commonly installed applications that are regularly patched to fix vulnerabilities. You can check these by visiting Secunia Software Inspector and Calendar of Updates.

Install an AntiSpyware Program

A highly recommended AntiSpyware program is SuperAntiSpyware. You can download the free Home Version. or the Pro version for a 15 day trial period.

Installing this or another recommended program will provide spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should scan your computer with an AntiSpyware program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

Finally, here's a treasure trove of antivirus, antimalware and antispyware resources

That's it Aperson, happy surfing!

Cheers.
