Do you think my external hard drive lead to the quick demise of laptops?
This is the type of hard drive I have: WD Elements 2TB

It's for desktop computers it says. However, I've used it for both my old Gateway laptop and Acer laptop computers. Both have died. The Gateway laptop stopped taking battery charges and caused the laptop to die. I took it to Best Buy and they said either the DC dock was broken or the motherboard went bad. I'm not saying my external hard drive had a role in the deaths of these two innocent pieces of machinery, but I'm just asking: Could it have possibly played a part in the later malfunctioning of these computers?

EDIT: I spelled "compatible" wrong. :o

In your original topic, here, I addressed the issue of knowing just whats wrong with your machine. You're asking questions we can't know for sure due to the severity of your issues. Rephrasing the question in another forum isn't going to get you the correct answer. You seem to be fishing for the answer that you want to hear.

Again with the severity of your problems you need hands on diagnostics. Not a series of Q & A on an online forum.

Since this question has been asked after a reply had already been given this topic is closed. See the original topic in the link above.
