I am running Xp Pro and upon startup I receive two error messages and must respond to those error messages before booting can continue.

The 2 messages are as follows....

1) Choose the program you want to use to open this file:
File: chkupd

Then follows a list of most of my applications and computer awaits my input. I cancel out and booting proceeds.

2) The procedure entry point apslnitialize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll.

This may be an artifact from when I unsuccessfully attempted to use my computer wirelessly. I gave it up and hard wired it and it works fine except for this error message. I would just like to circumvent the error message.

These messages have been appearing for some time (months) so I don't think this is a crucial issue but it is irksome.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Have you check out this MS link resolution? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950720 which shows a driver reinstall for XP from the support site. Chkupd thread for the startup error
