Need some help installing windows vista

Hi, everyone Im new to this forum, and im having truble istalling windows vista, I have linux on my sytem right now and i want to dual windows vista and linux, but I read that you need to install windows first, so I put my vista cd in my dvdrw drive and it gets to a black page and after that it dose notheing just sits there on the black screen, i vent left it there for 1hr and it still dose not boot, can you please help me thanks

i would try backing up all your data to an external drive, then formatting the internall HDD and then install vista. After thats installed reinstall linux followed by your data.

Are you booting from the disc?

You may need to enter the BIOS and make the CD/DVD-ROM the first device in the boot order to be able to boot from the disc.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
