Any changes or issues prior to the present problem? Have you tried booting in safemode to check on the difference? Is it a desktop or laptop and what model? Does it freezes on windows desktop consistently?

Hi jhayz..

Thnx for your response.... It is a desktop model in a fine condition (8 years old p4)and I never upgraded it with new hardware... my whole pc is 8 years old. Few days back it was hanging for 5-7 seconds consistently and then pc would become normal and now it is getting serious. whenever I am browsing or working on something suddenly it becomes freezed and then nothing works... keyboard, mouse, numlock nothing works even if I try to press ctrl+alt+del it doesn't work becoz keyboard also get freezed. To get rid of it I switch off the main power and have to boot it up again. After booting, everything would become normal but after 2, 4, 7, 10 minutes or 1 hour this problem occurs again.

Is it something wrong with the connectors or something wrong with registry or should I format windows.

Thnx again.......

Without knowing your PC specs but knowing the age of your PC and being familiar with the symptoms, it's time to put your old PC out to pasture and get a new one. That's exactly what I did last week. My PC was old and just didn't cut it anymore. I have been around BC long enough to know that nothing could be done. Look, I'm on a fixed income. I don't have money to throw around. But I did it. I got a new PC via Ebay and I got a good deal. This is not something you probably want to be told but it may be something you need to be told. It could be time to bite the bullet. I speak from experience.
