A friend has asked for some help on his daughter's computer.
It appears that the computer is infected with some kind of redirect bug - all the icons, including programmes in desktop and start menu show as Windows Media Player and cannot be altered back to their original state. I have tried system restore to an earlier point but I get a ' unable to open due to a software restriction policy contact your system administrator' message and I am unable to do anything. The only item in the start menu that doesn't open Windows Media Player is a Facebook sign up page (I don't yet know whether it is real or not). I would appreciate any help that I can get with this.
