I have Windows updates set to install automatically and, according to my update history, the latest Internet Explorer 9 update (KB2761465) installed successfully yesterday (12/12/12). However, when I go to Internet Explorer and check which version I have in About Internet Explorer, it says 9.0.8112.16421, and not the current version 9.0.12 (KB2761465).

If it installed successfully yesterday, why hasn't it updated? It appears it hasn't been updating for some time. Also, why isn't there a simple way of manually updating within the browser, as there is with most others?

PS - I hardly ever use IE - I just happened to check this today.

PPS - not sure if this or the web browsing section is best for this topic

Thanks

Have you restarted the computer since the update?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Are there any other updates which won't load?

I don't think so because control panel-Security says Windows is up to date, but then I can't be sure because the latest updates included IE updates which, according to Security, were installed yesterday but the browser, as I said in my first post, is still showing an older version.
