Has anybody used a search engine by the name of STAR PAGE.COM,it is supposed to hide your IP address

I think you would be better off setting up a proxy other than Startpage.

See comments here:For example, search Google, for 'proxy server'. The first link that comes up, you could use to browse the web (and even search from other search engines) anonymously, if you want.

So the only thing new about this is that it's directing you to Startpage rather than Google, or whatever your favourite search engine is, which is surely more of a marketing thing - they're getting their adverts up.
