Suddenly,When I open folders on my Desktop
(ones that I have created to hold programs),
instead of seeing icons for same, there is the "standard"
Search Panel on the left(blank page on the right)
with the name of that folder already typed in as the
area of search. When the "search" tab at bottom is clicked
the program icons within that folder are found
& listed. If there are any "sub folders"- to open
them, afer a click, again the Search Panel is there
with the name of the subfolder & to open/run the
items therein, the Search tab has to be clicked
for them to be listed.
Thus instead of a direct access to programs etc.several
windows have to be negotiated before items can be run.
What "setting" have I disturbed/changed unwittingly
for above anomaly to occur/
Thank you,
Stewy.

If you can, would you register this thank you message? There does not appear to be an section available for follow-up message after my original post?

Why do you create folders on your desktop to hold programs?

Programs should be installed on a drive, and an Icon placed on the desktop to ACCESS the program.
