OK...why are you replacing it...and what is the system model & manufacturer?

Do you have the capability to reinstall Windows?

well computor keeps rebooting ...after hiting f8 and disabled auto restart i get an error saying this
STOP :c0000218 {registry file failure}
the registry camnot load the hive [file]
\system root \system32\config software
or its log or alternate
it is corrupt,absent,or not writable

beginning dump of physical memory
physical memory dump complete
contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistants

so i just figured bad sectors in hard drive ..

Well...how did you intend to install Windows on the new hard drive...if you don't have installation disks?

The STOP 218 error is relatively common and there is guidance available (from others in this forum) on how to attempt to overcome it.

Though I can't help you there, I can post some references.
