Hello soliz53,

I see no evidence of any malware. We will check the MBR then move to troubleshooting.

Please download MBRFix. Save and extract its contents to the desktop. Once extracted, there will be three files in the folder. Copy just the MBRFix64 application to the USB drive. You don't need to run the tool. FRST will use the tool automatically.

Open notepad (Start =>All Programs => Accessories => Notepad). Please copy the entire contents of the code box below. (To do this highlight the contents of the box, right click on it and select copy. Right-click in the open notepad and select Paste). Save it on the flashdrive as fixlist.txt

SaveMbr: Drive=0

Now please enter System Recovery Options and select "Command Prompt".

Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.

The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt) please post its contents in your reply. It will also produce another file, MBRDUMP.txt, on the flash drive that although it may look a text file, it is a hex file. You must attach this report on your reply instead of posting its contents.

The MBR is clean.

While in System Recovery Options, instead of Command Prompt select System Restore. You have only one system restore point made on: 2012-12-07 01:21:40. Please select it and allow the system to be restored and tell me how it went.

Just to let you know, it is too late here and I see your reply tomorrow.

well it just finished and it was successful but once i hit enter to restart the same message pop up. I have no idea what could have cased this.

I have tried to run the start up repair option but the same error keeps coming up it says bad hard disk. so i removed the HD and hooked it up to another laptop as a portable HD and It does work normal. I even scanned it with Norton anti virus and there was none. so i re installed the HD in my laptop and i still have the same error as before

Note that you should refrain from doing any fix or making any changes to the system from now on until we are done unless you decide you can do the rest on your own. Thank you.

I got a PM from you stating that your topic was closed. What did you mean?

That looks good.

  • Please run FRST64, after the tool is open and ready to use close it. It is important to do this before the next step.
  • In the command prompt type:

    chkdsk c: /f

Press Enter. Wait until the drive C is checked for errors.
  • When it is finished, type in the command prompt:

    chkdsk y: /f

Press Enter. Wait until the drive Y is checked for errors.
  • After finished restart the computer and tell me how it went.

Please tap F8 at startup to see if F8 is still not accessible. You may try to tap is at different intervals speed. Sometimes it works better if you tap it slowly not so fast.

Please run FRST64, uncheck "Services", "Drivers", "List Files and Folders" and "List Partitions". Click scan and post the log it makes.
