NAS not visible

Hi. I've got a Belkin router and Iomega NAS drive. The drive always shows up in the router DHCP list with its MAC number. It always pings on with max 1ms 0 packets lost. It only rarely shows up on my computer though. Just doesn't seem to connect. If I reboot both the drive and router it may connect for a short while but then disappears again. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

I don't have a drive of this type, however......when you run Iomega NAS Discovery or Storage Manager, does the IP address appear there? If you start the computer normally, in Computer Management/Services is there a service running that looks related to NAS Discovery? Is it Started? Is it on Automatic? If your product uses Storage Manager, is it in the system tray? Is your firewall configured to allow that device to communicate with the PC?

It would help if you specified the model of Iomega NAS and PC OS. They make quite a variety.
