Hello forum.

For the past few days I've had some problems with Google Chrome. Once I open a few tabs and they are running for a few hours my whole machine becomes unresponsive. Then all the tabs crash and I can't view them. It's really odd. I have Windows 7 with SP1 installed and all updates, and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.95 which is one of the most recent. It seems to only be when I have the tabs open for a few hours or when my PC automatically turns itself off to save power.

I really don't want to give up on Chrome as it's a lovely browser, but if this continues I may just have to switch to Firefox or Opera etc. Does anyone else seem to have this problem or have a solution? I have an AMD FX 4100 @ stock (3.6Ghz) and an MSI HD 7770 if that information helps.

Thank you forum.

There seems to be some problems with Windows 7 hanging or freezing which they have addressed. You can read about this and their resolutions here.

Hi Arachibutyrophobia.

I don't think this is an issue with Windows 7, more the Chrome browser as this doesn't happen with Firefox, Opera etc. However I really like Chrome and want to be able to continue to use it, so am looking for ways to stop this.

Thanks.

I was having problems with Chrome freezing while online and tried the Microsoft fix that the link brings up. It won't cost you anything to give it a try.
