I was directed to start a thread in the "Windows Vista" section by user "NASDAQ" who was attempting to help with my on going issue with not being able to open up the Uninstall Programs in the control panel as we have run into a dead end. He/she has informed me that i may need to re-install Windows or i can try to see if anyone with more Windows Vista knowledge can help me so I'm choosing to exhaust all my options before having to re-install.

This is the thread that we were working on listed below:

Anybody that has Windows Vista Knowledge and think they can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Uninstall in Vista is called Programs and Features does that show in Control Panel? That runs appwiz.cpl in Windows\System32 folder you can double-click that to run it, thats if its in there.

Yes i do see "Programs and Features" inside of the control panel but nothing happens when i click on it. Just looks like it wants to open but it doesn't. Same thing when i try to run appwiz.cpl.

Any suggestions?

Hello -
Did you ever fully Remove Zoom Downloader > > answers.microsoft.com
It was hit by a Combofix scan at one stage, but please check it has now fully gone -

This is a Rogue Infection program that causes many problems

If this cannot be removed and you still have all the same problems, as per nasdaq Reinstall is most likely your other option -
(unless there are any other ideas)

Thank You -

Hello,

If you can't uninstall from Windows this program might help:

http://www.foxplanet.de/uninstmgr/

It is called Uninstall Manager.

See screen shot:

I hope this helps. :)

You should be able to uninstall from Ccleaner as thats uses the registry not the cpl app. Posted Image
