My Dad asked me to look at his problematic PC. There were constant BSODs. After booting off the XP installation CD and running Recovery Console and then chkdsk /r, the BSODs stopped for good. Everything seemed fine until I installed Google Chrome and soon discovered a hijack! The funny thing is IE does not seem to have this hijack.

Searchfunmoods LOOKS like Google, but of course it isn't. I did a brief web search and found this thread:

I gave Post #14 a shot. I ran OTL. I found an entry for Searchfunmoods. I saw other weird stuff, including something about a remote desktop viewer. I copied and pasted the script and ran Run Fix, rebooted, and rescanned.

In retrospect, I should have posted here first. So, my apologies.

I'm thinking of a flatten-and-rebuild. But I figured I'd post here first.

Thanks in advance.

Rather than run a fix for someone else's PC in which certainfactors can cause trouble it is better to have your own topio,so repost with this..

Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.
