I had already posted earlier in November. I did a combofix log without realizing I was NOT supposed to. Doesn't make a difference now because the computer has "lost" that log as well. I was told to run the unhide.exe program. I did, I don't see anything different though. After my description I will paste the dds and attach logs. I have to copy and paste both logs because I also cannot attach files. I can get on the internet this whole time but i have to go around the mulberry bush to do it. When I click on the internet explorer icon (which now says "without add-ons") nothing happens. I have to right click then select open. A window pops up as if yahoo home page is going to appear but nothing happens. I have to go in the browser window and type yahoo.com for it to actually come up. when I do this a small gray box with writing pops up in the middle of the screen....it is so lightning fast that I cannot even tell you one word. Yahoo will then come up but in the browser search window this appears: file///c:/documents%20and%20settings/cindy%20trimmer/local%20settings/temporary%20internet%20files/content.IE5,1GGFZYQ9/yahoo_com[1].htm I am, by the way, writing all this for my sister who is deaf. She acquired this computer through our sister-in-law who is now deceased. It's HER name that is in the settings message. When my sister acquired this computer in August it was virtually fine. She claims that she was on facebook playing games with friends when everything went to dirt. She has Avast, Ccleaner, Malaware, etc....and all scans show up fine. This happened in early November. All start programs are gone. Add/remove program list is gone. device manager list is gone. there is so much missing I may as well tell you what is here: the internet, picture files, and thats about it. I will now copy and paste the dds and attach logs. If you want me to run another combofix and post that let me know. I have no idea where the file went. I think right now this thing has a mind of its own. Also before I realized that she might be really screwed here, we tried to do a restore, nope....that function is also missing. Thank you all for any help you can provide. And if it would be easier to just buy a whole new computer let me know. Thanks again.

hello,

I appreciate you looking at this. However, my sister has since bought a new computer. Sunday night she turned the old one on and it just stayed at the windows screen and there was a steady clicking coming from the tower. I assume it bit the dust or was getting close to it. There is no need to go any further now. I wanted to thank you again for looking at this. Happy Holidays to you.
