Hey new member here, sorry if i forget some of the rules, i will try my best. So an internet friend told me about this site after i had explained the annoying virus i have on my computer. It's called the linkbucks virus and it does everything from redirecting and shutting my browser off to making certain programs unable to run on my laptop. I have googled EVERY possible way to get rid of this virus so please, please do not tell me to watch this 1 minute youtube video of how to get rid of the virus because they are all scams. I tried to system restore today and the virus will not even allow me to do that, so I am at a loss. I came to you all for any possible answer in hopes i won't have to pay a computer repair store.

In Chrome it may be the Add ons/Plugins. try disabling them one at a time and see which one was at fault.

OR Disable All Extensions ,see if that worked, then you need to go back to one by one to see which ps the culprit.

All i had was a program called stats reader on the extensions and i've trashed it 3 times or so already. Keeps coming back. My task manager is going crazy saying i'm using 42% of my physical memory, it's usually at 3%. And i'll close all these processes or open their location and delete them and they keep coming back. There's a program called bitcoin miner which i know for a fact isn't good. But i deleted the extension, nothing has changed just yet.

ESET ONLINE

I'd like us to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan
  • Hold down Control and click on this link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
    • Click on esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
    • Double click on the Posted Image
      icon on your desktop.
  • Check "YES, I accept the Terms of Use."
  • Click the Start button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Under scan settings, check "Scan Archives" and "Remove found threats"
  • Click Advanced settings and select the following:
    • Scan potentially unwanted applications
    • Scan for potentially unsafe applications
    • Enable Anti-Stealth technology
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, click List Threats
  • Click Export, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Click the Back button.
  • Click the Finish button.

NOTE:Sometimes if ESET finds no infections it will not create a log.
