My laptop all of a sudden is extremely slow and it keeps either restarting or randomly shuts down. I scanned for malware and found nothing. Also I cant seem to update Microsoft security update that it is telling me I need. Whenever I try the update fails. I don't know if this is part of the issue but whenever I try to watch a video in chrome it crashes constantly. I'm at a loss for what's wrong. I haven't downloaded anything new so I don't know why it just started acting soo slow.

Download Speccy and then install the program. To post and publish a snapshot of your PC.
. In the Menu bar, click File -> Publish Snapshot
. Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard
. On your next reply, right-click on a empty space and click Paste on reply box then click Post.

Download MiniToolBox and select
List Last 10 Event Viewers, List Installed Programs and List Users, Partitions and Memory Size.
A notepad will open then copy-paste the report on your next reply.

1. The most likely cause of your shutdown and lags is overheating problem. The readings are on mid-high range looking from the speccy report. Did you made a back-up of your documents or files already? Check the air blowing out from the side ventilation. Is it hot You can install SpeedFan to monitor the high temps. but as of now you need to clean the laptop internally, reapply thermal paste/compound for the CPU and GPU chip. You could also take it to a repair shop who specializes on computer maintenance.

2. The hard drive may also be affected from the thermal events, run a diagnostic test and use the short and long test if the laptop has a BIOS utility feature or use the Windows mode from Western Digital.

3. Install a free Antivirus and remove the McAfee toolbar/addon, shield, or softwares installed in your computer.
