Press Windows+R key and type

services.msc and click ok

What is the status of Group policy client service?

If it has been stopped already

Right click on this key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\gpsvc

Select PERMISSIONS

Click on ADVANCED

Click on OWNER and select your user account name under CHANGE OWNER options and click APPLY

Now go to SECURITY tab and click on ADD and type

Everyone in Dialog box

click ok and select Everyone and give full control permissions to it

Try to delete the key now.

If you know to open your Router page.Go to router settings and disable UPNP.

That should fix the error.

Hello,

I'm having the same issues as in the original post and want to try out this fix . Only I'm not sure what to click on in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\gpsvc.

When I get to this entry in regedit,  Do I delete the whole folder entry on the left panel with both folders in it? (Parameters and Security)

So do you have an option called  Other users or groups?

You can use the snipping tool to take a screenshot and upload it to http://tinypic.com/index.php and post the link here.
