I've decided to try and format my laptop today, however I have a frustrating error that keeps occurring and I don't really know what to do.

I have an ASUS U43JC laptop. When I purchased the laptop, it didn't come with any CD/DVD's.

I've tried to install some of the drivers from the ASUS website, with some of them saying I needed to download the x64 version because what I had downloaded was x32 (even though I'm pretty sure I downloaded the x64 file...)

There's one file that I had downloaded, yet I'm not sure what to do with it; it's called U43Jc.216

Anyhow, this is the error that pops up when I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7:

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: IF the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

Any help would be appreciated! :thumbup2:

Why are you formatting? That system should have a factory restore-to-defaults mechanism.

Where did you get the Windows 7 version you are attempting to install?
