Hello Everybody,
I've been reading articles or alikes advising if the computer is older than 2 years "BIOS update is necessary".
I have a desktop OEM desktop computer which is 6 years old with motherboard Foxconn RC407MA-S2 and BIOS type: Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG and operating Windows XP in satisfactory conditions.
Now, the question is, should it be updated or not ?

Hello!

BIOS type: Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG

This is the generic type of modular BIOS being used, and doesn't tell us what version it is updated to. However that probably doesn't matter, because:

operating Windows XP in satisfactory conditions.

In my opinion, if the system is operating satisfactorily, there is no need to update the BIOS.

you only update the BIOS if:

You update a major component ie Processor on the existing motherboard
Bug fixes but only not working correctly

I agree with platypus you don't have to update the Bios
