Computer is a Dell Inspiron e5500 running Windows 7 Pro. Never tried to burn a CD with the supplied Roxio Creator DE10.3 software 'til today; tired to 'Burn an Image' and the Roxio SW will not recognize the drive. The supplied DVD-CD RW drive works fine as a read device and I used it to re-format a CD disc today; it is a TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L633C. I read up something about a px3 engine upgrade or fix but have no clue what that is. Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I reloaded the driver with the latest from Dell and nothing changed.

I would instead try using the available free burning softwares.

Thanks for the idea; I will use that if I cannot find another fix. I have found a description on this same problem and the px3 engine update, but I don't understand what to updaate and where to get such updates. You would think that the software supplied OEM would work with the OEM supplied hardware!!!

I don't own a Dell laptop but most likely the suggested alternative softwares offer some or more advantages with less hassle than the pre-installed one.
