Hi all

I recently performed a full format and reinstall of vanilla Windows 7 Ultimate on an Acer 6920G. It has a scroll line beside the touchpad so I installed the appropriate Synaptic driver (SynTPEnh.exe) which works successfully. The problem is that ewvery time I reboot the driver automatically asks to be reinstalled. If I run it the touchpad works as expected but if I cancel it then it's as if the driver was never installed. Strangely, Programs and Features shows a listing for 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' before I run/cancel the install request. I've tried the obvious things - uninstalling, re-downloading, reinstalling, etc - to no avail and I have no idea why the driver would get stuck in such a weird loop. Any suggestions as to why it happens or how to fix it would be much appreciated.
