Backspace Problem With Suse10

hi everyone,

well I won't hide that I am a noob concerning linux.
I use suse 10
I am trying to learn C so I use "vi" to edit my programs
the problem appears with backspace,meanly i use gnome terminal, it is a trivial problem but it gets on my nerves

when i am wrinting backspace works for the line that i am at but
if i change line then i doesn't

also i can't delete an empty line , with backspace or delete

help plz i am going crazy :thumbsup: :flowers:
if you don't undersand what i am saying plz ask

press "escape" to exit out of "insert" mode and cursor to the
blank line and type: dd
Try Google for "backspace in vi"
I dont use Suse and don't have that problem in vi.

I have SuSE 10, but I haven't had that problem.
