I have a problem with my desktop computer. I turn the desktop on and my monitor button turns orange instead of green and says in sleep mode press any key. I hit any key and nothing happens. I've made sure the cords for the monitor are pulled into the desktop but still have same problem. Now I unplugged the monitor cord from the desktop and it has another message that pops on the screen I forget what it said it was green and red. But when I plug the monitor back into the computer it goes back to blank screen. Does anyone know whats wrong? If so can I fix it? Thanks in advance for any help.

<<Now I unplugged the monitor cord from the desktop and it has another message that pops on the screen I forget what it said it was green and red>>

Try a different monitor...and write down (and post) any error messages that appear onscreen, please.
