It is not that the computer does not know the USB is there, it is that whatever I plug into it that used to work fine now produces a message "You need to format the disk in Drive g. before you can use it". Same message regardless of which USB slot I plug it into. These ports worked for over a year before they suddenly started giving me this message.
I've updated the drivers, but no change. Still get the same message.
