Hey everyone. I have recently tried to play several different games on my computer, and so far none have worked. The games will download just fine, but when I load them I can hear everything but cannot move. Very very bag lag. I've been told its probably my graphics card, but I don't know much about computers. I was curious if anyone knows of a better card that would be compatible with my system. All of my system info is in the pictures. Thanks in advance.

Hi Cody,

Can you publish a speccy report for us via http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html Paste the link in here.

Is your computer a desktop or a laptop. What kind of games are you trying to play?

Thank you for your report,

Its looks like you have a on board chip for your graphic card that isn't giving you much to do.

its looks like your motherboard can support a dedicated card

To get the higher end cards you would need to update the PSU unit to a higher wattage and if its a dual slot you need to make sure you don't have nothing in the way. because dual slot are big and fat

I am worried about that power supply being only 220 watts however I think this Gefore 430 GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130579 will work for you. Its got 1GB physical memory and isn't a dual slot.

In my time building pcs all had Nvidia GPU. I had 9500, 430 GT, GTX 550ti (dual slot)

I would hold off for a bit before you order because some one will have more suggestions for you.

Thanks for your advice. That card is in my price range. Is that a pretty good improvement from the one currently in the computer? And are you sure it will work? I really don't know much about these things. Thank you.

These are your http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/2011/acer/aspire/AspireX1420G/AspireX1420Gsp2.shtml specifications

I found your Manuel located here: http://www.manualowl.com/m/Acer%20Computers/Aspire-X1420G/Manual/257840

I was looking at your motherboard layout and you have a non-standard power supply and motherboard layout. See page 68 Item 12

Upgrading your power supply is out because its a non-standarded PSU. Running a Dual Slotted card is out

Baaed on my finding I think that will fit and be ok. Make sure you have room for that card. You can post a picture of your motherboard and I can try to confirm that for you.

Because this computer is limited to components there not much you can do than a single slot card with that motherboard configuration.

Looking at the motherboard layout vs (internal) actual picture I can only judge it.

Hope this helps

You can pick up a Nvidia GTX 470 on Ebay for a good price. Its what I use, and blazes through the games.

Just make sure it'll fit inside your case before you buy.
