Why are you attempting uninstalls via Revo...rather than simply using Add/Remove Programs?

Did you try reinstalling the apps...then using Add/Remove Programs to uninstall?

Why are you uninstalling the AV program?

Please download MiniToolBox , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 .

Hi Louis
I used revo because i thought it was a better way to remove programs (more complete). removing avast because it just has too many pop-ups and was going to replace with microsoft security essentials which has been working well on my system at home.

Run the Avast Uninstaller Avast Uninstall Utility. .

Try the TCPIP FixIt .

Then...Start/Run...type chkdsk /r and hit Enter. Type Y in new screen and hit Enter. Reboot. The command will execute, prior to booting into Windows.

Since I don't know what the problem is...I can't say.

I will say that, for users employing Windows System Restore, it exists for situations such as the one you seem to have.

Sounds like the MSI is corrupt to me try and run the all in one repair tool with all boxes checked just make a restore point prior to running the tool.
http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

Uninstall spybot.
Uninstall Trend Micro AntiVirus (Version: 16.00) (You can not have two antivirus apps on your machine.)

Update to service pack 2
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

Run adware cleaner hit the delete button follow the prompts.

Say bye to your issue if you follow the steps above and do not skip anything. :)

Disable all start-up items except your antivirus.

Reboot your machine. :)

Also the autoruns tool will help you rid your machine of any un-wanted start up items if you need help with it then post the log here. See below. :)

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.txt under the file type option. in other words make sure it is a .txt file instead of .arn Attach the text in your next reply.

FWIW: In Autoruns...the startup items are on the Logon tab.
