Hi guys,
I am going to be getting a new laptop for some pretty basic use... Mainly writing papers, doing e-mail, and power point, not much more. Anyone have a place they could recommend that has pretty good deals typically?

Thanks,
DD

The local paper is a good place. I also suggest ebay. I have bought all of my 3 working laptops on ebay without much of a problem except on the last one. Which would have been a accident(didnt come with some things it was said to have).

I dont like buying technology new much. It goes down in value so fast it seems so I mostly buy it either new on ebay cheaper or used like on ebay or in the paper.

Hope this helps

The last two notebooks I purchased I bough at Office Depot. Both were Toshibia. I was very pleased. I had no problems but I felt I received a good value.
I still have the P-II 300mhz I bought back in '99.

I also like Toshiba. I own a couple with no problems. They have great 24/7 tech. I used it when I couldn't figure how to use a few things. I was a real dummy on some things when I started and they were more than willing to help.

Any way this one may be ood for you . Probably need to ad Powerpoint tho.

I like Toshiba, too. My mom has owned 2, and the first one is 8 years old and running Win XP now. They're pretty bulletproof. I've never had a problem with them.
