Okay, so when I run too many tabs in Opera, or when I am doing something on Polyvore, or when I am trying to run a virus scan, eventually I get the blue screen of death with this error: Driver IRQL not less or equal. Whatever that means. This started recently after I did updates, my laptop was in the shop for a month, I have a Dell Studio, it needed new casing, hinges, re-wiring. But now it looks brand spanking new, but I have gotten the blue screen of death like eight times since one pm, currently it is 8:30pm my time. I use Vista Home Premium, and I already tried a restore point, but it wouldn't take, so I need help. Tell me what to do and I'll do it. And if you need more information please tell me and I will provide.

Could you provide the STOP error code provided on the BSOD? I've seen this error code being related to bad RAM before...so that could be something to look into.

The next time you see the BSOD, make note of the error code and post it. It usually consists of 0x000.... In order to diagnose your problem, we need the error codes as that can help us pin point the problem.

Wait, why do I have to uninstall the iorbit stuff? It is good stuff. And once I do this, can I reinstall them? Or can I not have them anymore?

UrlFilter.sys from IObit Malware Fighter is implicated in the D1 Bugcheck.

Since I don't use any IObit products, I'm not sure if Malware Fighter is incorporated in Advanced System Care 6, but I suspect that it is.

My suggestion is to temporarily uninstall Malware Fighter or Advanced System Care 6 and run for a few weeks to determine if the BSODs stop.
  • If you have purchased the product, make sure that you have the proper registration information for re-installation.

Regards,
Brooks

It was approximately 5 days between your first post and the BSOD of 11/08/12.

Regards,
Brooks
