Good Afternoon Gents & Ladies, I am a service specialist and am not working much anymore. The tablet & smartphone takeover
has almost put me outta business! Now I read that laptops are being made with the hard drives and ram soldiered into the cases?
Sounds like the IRS to me. At least I have the Vista Ultimate disks to keep my HTPC's running netflicks & HD music! I regress.
Guess I'll carve some curves and then have a craft beer or two.

I'm kind of searching here...just what is it that you are trying to make a point of...that relates to Vista O/S problems?

Seems to me that this post may belong in General Chat, rather than Vista O/S...but I'm on the road to senility and I don't comprehend all that I should :).

Well, call me crazy, but I don't believe that tablets and smartphones will take over the industry anytime soon...a good desktop PC is hard to beat and not as fearsome as the "tablets" or "smartphones".

I see what you are saying audioAI. I used to be able to pick up a burdened and unworking PC, fix it nad flip it with a small fortune. Tablet PCs are so freaking cheap anymore and the average user jumps to the tablet craze before they would buy a used PC for the same price.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE android. but this personal device craze is just another proof of burden that our culture is disposable and wasting its resources. I still think there is nothing more gratifying than getting an old worn out XP machine to run tip top again.
