For security reasons it can be a good idea to disable Remote Assistance.

To do this go to Start> Control Panel> click on the arrow to the right of Control Panel to open All Control Panel Items and click on System.

In the upper left side of the page there is a menu which has Remote settings in it, click on it and remove the check in the box for Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.

If you find that you wish to use this application you can replace the check to enable it.

thank you Recalcitrant, but won't the port(s) that would be used still be open? If so is that a security risk? Ron

If the Remote Assistance is disabled the port/s don't matter in that respect.

By the way, my user name is dc3. Recalcitrant is my member name as new member currently is yours. Once you reach 1,000 posts you can choose your own member name.Posted Image
