When I purchased new Systemax PC I also purchased Internet Security Suite Plus for protection. What happened to Microsoft Security Essentials, Total Defense Firewall, Windows Defender, etc. that came with Windows 7???

What do you mean by ''what happened?''

MSE is a M/soft program that you download and install.

İt doesn't come pre-installed on W.7.(even though M/soft provides a pre-installation kit for Manufacturers)

Windows Defender comes pre-installed but you can disable it

if you so wish.(as i have)

Windows also has its own firewall, which can and will be disabled

if you install Norton's İnternet Security for example,as it uses its own firewall.

Both are very good by the way.

Julia, thank you for your prompt reply and the information. I am not computer savvy. This past week my PC has slowed down and I thought maybe the security system I purchased was conflicting with some Windows programs. I remember reading that you should not have certain programs conflicting with one another and that was my concern.

If you post the following requested data...we can check what is installed for obvious conflicts.

Please download MiniToolBox , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 .
