Hello and thank you,
I recently downloaded a GPU Meter off what i thought was a microsoft website. After downloading i ran a virus scan and it detected that it was a virus. I removed it but now i am having some problems with my computer. I will get popups on websites which i never got popups on before, and i have had an update for windows for about a week now that says it is installing every time i shut down but then when i restart it just pops up saying that that same update needs to be installed. I tried going to windows update to install in while running but it says that install failed. I am also having problems accessing things on certain websites that i never had a problem with before. I can go to websites fine, it's just that when i try to use a feature on the website it won't let me. Today when trying to log into one of my websites, the login screen just continues to load without actually bringing up the login screen. I use MSE, Malewarebytes, and SUPERAntiSpyware. MSE or Malewarebytes don't pick up anything. SUPERAntiSpyware always picks up files which i quarinteen and delete

The update is Security Update for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2754670)

Download size: 2.1 MB (When trying to update i get the error code 646)

I have on idea what to do from here.

So far all looks clean.

FSS log is incomplete.
Please redo.

Next...

Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Alternate download: http://www.itxassociates.com/OT-Tools/TFC.exe
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

=============================================================================

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Delete.
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
  • Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

Next...

  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Uninstall.
  • Confirm with yes.

=============================================================================

Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

  • Disable your antivirus program
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use
  • Click Start
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Check Scan archives
  • Click Start
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, click on List of found threats
  • Click on Export to text file , and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
NOTE. If Eset doesn't find any threats it'll NOT produce any log.

Ok sorry about the FSS log this should be a complete one. For some reason when i am downloading the programs off the links you gave it downloads everything twice, it's doing this for every thing i download including previous things i downloaded before starting this process with you. I noticed this because i went in my download folder and saw a bunch of duplicate downloads.

ESET Scanner didn't find anything so it didn't produce a log.

1. Update your Java version here: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

Note 1: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

Note 2: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. If you don't want to run another extra service, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and restart your computer.

2. Now, we need to remove old Java version and its remnants...

Download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it.
  • Run JavaRa.exe (Vista users! Right click on JavaRa.exe, click Run As Administrator), pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Do NOT post JavaRa log.

You should be good to go :)
