Mod Edit:MOVED to Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs ~~boopme

Hey bros. I stumbled upon you folks through google, and chose to post here because of how friendly and helpful I've seen the responses to be.

Basically I received a new laptop running Windows 7 from my brother for business purposes and he impregnated it with eblaster to monitor my daily activity.

The job has since been nullified and voided, and I have attempted to remove the spyware. I ran the reg file in safe mode posted here in the forums to remove it, but was subsequently only able to find and delete 3 of the 5 files listed(the eblaster.exe and ebsetup.exe files). Could not locate the others.

Anyway I ran HJT and I don't see any instances of it from my vantage point, but I'm no techie, so was hoping one of the experts here could take a quick glance at my log and confirm my self-liberation:

Just need to know it's not running and is gone. I believe it to be, but of course that's not enough.

Also getting this error message during the scan which I am unable to successfully translate:

"For some reason your system denied write access to the host files"

As long as it has nothing to do with an existing infection I'm not worried about it.

Many thanks to all the good fellas out there helping us eLackies. Your assistance is genuinely appreciated.

Hello crashed server :)

  • I will be helping with your computer problems.
  • From this point on, it is very important that you refrain from doing anything else to your computer other than what I have requested of you.
  • I do not mind if you browse the web, do basic tasks, or even test to see if the problem(s) you are experiencing are still occurring with the computer while we are working together, but do not run any tools/fixes unless I or another helper from this thread has asked you to do so.
  • Remember that you came here for help, so allow us to help you :)
  • If something does not run, make a detailed note of what problems you encountered along the way (exact error messages are preferred), but continue onto the next steps until you reach the end of my post.
  • Always do the steps they are listed in (left to right, top to bottom).
  • I prefer that you complete all the steps while you are in Normal Mode. However, I understand that sometimes this is not possible. If you are unsuccessful in getting a tool/fix to run from Normal Mode, but Safe Mode works, then use Safe Mode.
  • If you have a question about something, do not hesitate to ask.

Let's begin:

First, upload the below file highlighted in red to here.

  • C:\windows\cerotker\tblesbot.exe

__

HiJackThis! has not been updated in years therefore, it is not very effective versus the modern types of infections we see nowadays. I didn't see any obvious traces of malware from your HJT log (minus the above suspicious file) but would like to get more information to make sure your system is clean.

Please perform the following scan:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links if you no longer have it available. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Hey thank you so much for taking the time to assist me. I will plug you guys as much as I can to anyone I can. What a great group here.

Ok so, where we're at.

-I submitted the file in question from the log for you. Should be waiting for you.

-I downloaded DDS. Ready to go as soon as I can disable the anti-virus(see below)

-Issue: My McAfee only has two buttons when it appears after I click it in the system tray. A help button and in the upper right corner a drop down "actions" button. The choices are: Product Details, View Help, Admin Logon, Scan Computer, View Application List, Set Connection Type

The obvious choice would be the admin logon, but we're going to have to bypass this somehow as my brother(former employer) set this A/V up, and since we are on very bad terms right now, there's no chance for get to get the email/pw it's requiring.

Please instruct me. Thank you.

Ok, try running DDS without disabling McAfee.
If it works, the paste the DDS.txt but attach ATTACH.txt, if it does not work, we'll use a different tool.

Not sure if I properly attached the Attach.txt or not, so I submitted it through the above link I used earlier today to upload the file in question from HJT. It can also be found there.

Let me know if you need anything else This, and thanks.

I received your ATTACH.txt, thanks.

Posted Image Please download RogueKiller to your desktop.
  • Now rename RogueKiller.exe to winlogon.exe
  • Double-click winlogon.exe to run.
  • When it opens, press the Scan button
  • When the scan is finished, press the Delete button.
  • Post the contents of the latest numbered RKReport in your next message.

__

Posted Image Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.
  • Important!! When you save the mbam-setup file, rename it to something random (such as 123abc.exe) before beginning the download.
Malwarebytes may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet and double-click on the renamed file to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • Malwarebytes will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button and continue.
  • If you cannot update Malwarebytes or use the Internet to download any files to the infected computer, manually update the database by following the instructions in FAQ Section A: 4. Issues.
  • Under the Scanner tab, make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • First, click on the Fix Host button.
  • NExt, click on the Scan button.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then click the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked and then click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows the database version and your operating system.
  • Exit Malwarebytes when done.
Note: If Malwarebytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally will prevent Malwarebytes from removing all the malware.

-- Some types of malware will target Malwarebytes and other security tools to keep them from running properly. If that's the case, use Malwarebytes Chameleon and follow the onscreen instructions. The Chameleon folder can be accessed by opening the program folder for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (normally C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware).

Posted Image Fix items using OTL by OldTimer

Double-click OTL.exe to run the program.
Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
Copy the text in the code box below and paste it into the Posted Image text-field.

Click the OK button (upon reboot).
When OTL is finished, Notepad will open with a log report.
Post the contents of this report into your next message.
Let me know what problems remain, if any once you have completed these steps.
