Ips And Viruses

Is it possible to give someone a virus by simply knowing their IP address? Because i have a Freewebs account and in the guestbook theres an option to post the IP address, and I'm not sure if i should activate that since my one friend said you can get a virus.

If you have a firewall, maybe a router, and a resident (and constantly updated) AV program you have no risk.
