If M0le or someone who can check the content from my other Blue screen posts (that seemed to be resolved) and give me directions what program to begin diagnosing and fixing the problem. Topic referenced is here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic470990.html m0le has stated that the problem is not longer malware related. ~ OB It started with Firefox crashing multiple times today and when I tried to restart Firefox it told me it was already running and I needed to restart my computer. After restarting I got the dreaded HP blue screen again. Also I noticed that my PC Firewall Tools plus icon was missing from my systray. Thanks for any help...

Update - after a few attempts I was able to reboot into normal mode. When it rebooted the PC Firewall Tools now appears in my systray too. Should I wait and see what happens or run something to check?

HI LAB811,

We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience thus far. Please allow me just a bit of time to review the previous steps taken by you and m0le. After I have finished coming up to speed you can anticipate a flurry of activity! :thumbup2:

HI LAB811,

Thank you for allowing me some time to review the previous steps. Let's see if a Blue Screen report helps us at all. I would also like to modify Firefox a bit to see if it changes anything. In a bit I want to take a look at the PC Firewall issue as it seems to be constantly popping up, maybe legitimately so, and maybe not.

Please do this for me.

===================================================

BlueScreenView

----------

  • Download BlueScreenView and save it to your desktop
  • Double click the BlueScreenView.exe file then click OK
  • Select Run, Next, then Next again
  • Click Install
  • When the scanning is complete, select Edit and Select All
  • Then click File and Save Selected Items
  • Save the report as BSOD.txt
  • Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy the entire content and paste it into your next reply
More information about the program can be found here

===================================================

Disabling Add-ons in Mozilla Firefox

--------------------

  • Launch Firefox
  • Select Help, then Restart with add-ons disabled...
  • Click Restart
  • Check Disable all add-ons then click Continue in Safe Mode
  • Click the Plugins tab
  • Disable all Plugins
  • Please report how Firefox is running

===================================================

Things I would like to see in your next reply. Please be sure to copy and paste the information rather than send an attachment. :thumbsup2:

  • BSOD log
  • How is Firefox running?

OP has not been online since 25 Oct.

We typically do not close topic here (or the othter O/S hardware forums) unless there is topic duplication, violation of rules, etc.
