Can I format my 1tb as a master drive

With the new pc parts I just got I also got a wd 1TB hardrive i want to use the whole drive as a single formatted drive can Windows 7 do this because I am told that XP can't handle that large of a single format.

Yes, but personally I'm a fan of partitions.

Yes, I've got Windows 7 and it handles my 2TB backup drive as a single volume just fine.

FWIW: It's only when using drives larger than 2TB as the boot drive...that this becomes a consideration.
