The problem I am having occurs with all three of the browsers I have tried (Chrome,Firefox,IE). I am using windows xp media center edition version 2002 SP3.
When I first open a browser the home page loads fine. If I click on a link to open a new tab, part of the page will not load and it is usually a picture (i will get the frame with a red X in the corner)but the text will all be there. If I reload the page it will sometimes load correctly. The longer I have the browser open, the worse the problem gets till a page wont load at all and refreshing won't help. It also seems to be worse if I open a second tab before the first has finished loading. The error messages I receive are: Chrome "Ooops! Google Chrome could not connect" or "This webpage not available." Firefox "The connection has timed out." IE "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage." The error messages come up right away, it's not like the page tries to load for awhile then times out. I have ran several antivirus programs (AVG, Malwarebytes, SuprerantiSpyware) in normal mode, safe mode, and safe mode with networking, and they come back clean. This is a hand me down computer from my brother so I don't know alot about it's previous behavior, although he tells me he hadn't noticed anything wrong.
The computer having the problem is a desktop connected to a wireless router with an ethernet cable. I brought in my laptop and connected wirelessly and the laptop works fine. Don't know if the info helps but what the hey.
Thank you for your time.
