help harddrive not showing in my computer

hi i bought a new pc and i had a second hardrive in my old pc which had no windows installed on in which have my files and other paper work saved, i put the harddrive in my new pc but its not showing up on my computer but is showing enabled in computer management.

harddrive is a maxtor diamondmax 9

can someone give me instructions on how i can view that disk and my files which i need they are important

hope someone can help thank you

go to: Start > Computer and right click > Manage > Device Management. What does it say??

iv dont this the drive is showing enabled in disk drives but its not showing in my computer explorer

Can you right-click the old drive by disk management and see explore, so you could open and save the contents to another storage?

you can see it in disk drive regardless and the reason why I asked you what does it say is because it may need formatting or is in a state that will not show up. Post a screen shot of it in management.

How is the drive being attached? By USB or internally?

hi iv tried the above when i right click on the foriegn disk it only give me 3 options one is convert to basic, properties and help is there another way or am i doing something wrong

i dont want to format it as i have files saved on the harddrive

what do i do to see my files on that harddrive without formatting

You may have to set it up as a slave drive to transfer the files to other media. Once that is done, you can format it.

While I'm aware that this can be done, I don't know how to do it myself.
