The wife's laptop runs Windows 7 with a 500GB hard drive and 8GB of memory. Now she wants to dualboot windows 7 and Fedora 17. Would welcome any help and advice.

Before you begin, take a look here: How to: Install Fedora 17 on Windows 7 Dual Boot.

Caveate: Before actually attempting the the dual boot, make sure that you have a solid backup of important data, just in case. I would recommend that you image your existing OS to an external hard drive before starting the installation of a second OS.

Bleeping Computer has a forum for Linux & Unix. This would be the forum to ask any additional or follow-up questions in.

Good luck.
