I installed the new Catalyst 12.8 drivers and now my after effects no longer works.
it says "after effects has stopped working"
Then it gives me something about "GPU sniffer.exe" has stopped working. For some reason after effects doesn't detect my graphics card.
I have a mobility radeon HD 5870
when i tried to launch my old after effects CS5.5, it said this:

Help please! It worked perfectly before i updated my drivers. AMD drivers always tend to f**k with my laptop.
Also, how can i revert back to 12.6 drivers? that was the most stable one for me

Do a System Restore.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

You could go to Device Manager, Hardware, Video Adapter, Properties, Driver (or similar) and rollback to the previous version. Otherwise, per dc3 if restore won't undo other changes you have made recently.

I have an old ATi adapter and the drivers were always a pain. I never updated to any of the Catalyst drivers because they screwed things up. I'm a big fan of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
