Hey there,

I found this forum while searching for a malware/virus fix similar to the one Gringo helped this guy with here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic461305.html

I too was infected a day or so ago with some spyware while surfing the web, all it took was one bad pop-up and that was that. Currently using Mozilla but problems persist regardless of using IE, Chrome..etc. Malwarebytes found 7 suspicious non-system volume files but this obly' did not fix the problem alone.

Problem: When using my favorite search engines(mainly google) after clicking on results I am redirected to various malware spam links for example: "http./click.livesearchnow.com/ads-clicktrack/click/jump1.do" Firewall is also acting up error codeing like above poster's and I cannot change the settings.

Please see DDS logs below, thank you for your time!! Much appreciated:

one of your core files is infected, so we need to find a replacement for it

Also there are some entries that need our attention.

  • We need to remove some of the entries that FRST has found as well as do the search

Open notepad. Please copy the contents of the code box below. To do this highlight the contents of the box and right click on it. Paste this into the open notepad. Save it on the flashdrive as fixlist.txt

    start
    C:\Windows\Installer\{1ce4179a-f127-1191-9465-e33aba49f164}
    C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini
    C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini
    end

Now please enter System Recovery Options.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.
  • While you are still booted into System Recovery Options run FRST64.

Type the following in the edit box after "Search:" so it looks like this:

    Search: services.exe

Click Search button and post the log it makes to your reply.

Refer to the ComboFix User's Guide

  • Download ComboFix from the following location:

    Link

    * IMPORTANT !!! Place ComboFix.exe on your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.
You can get help on disabling your protection programs here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: If you encounter a message "illegal operation attempted on registry key that has been marked for deletion" and no programs will run - please just reboot and that will resolve that error.
