Hello,

For some reason I am unable to take a screenshot.

I tap the Print/screen button and the cursor arrow flickers but that is all.

I tried holding the ALT button down and pressed the print screen button, no luck.

I tried holding down the CTRL button down and pressed priint/screen , still no luck.

The only thing that happens is that the cursor arrow flickers.

This feature was working just fine a couple of months ago when I last took a screenshot.

Any ideas ???

Thanks for your time,

Dennis :)

The obvious question is what happens when you paste the screenshot into Paint or whatever you use when you paste the screenshot?

When using Prt Scr nothing is supposed to happen-at least nothing you can see on your monitor.

If you cannot get the image to paste you do have a problem I cannot help you with.

The only thing I can suggest is to use a screen capture program.

You can find a list of free ones here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic366982.html/page__view__findpost__p__345675 under Screen Capture Applications.

Even more obvious question. Have you rebooted? (Sorry, I just watched the ITCrowd over the weekend)

A reboot might work. Sometimes it does when all else fails.

Well this is quite embarrassing but I am going to come clean.

I messed up.

I could have sworn that when I hit print screen in the past the screenshot would show on my monitor prior to my pasting it in paint.

Queen-Evie your response above was on the money. I pressed the print screen button, opened paint, pressed ALT and V and the screen shot appeared.

You helped me after all by jogging my memory.

I apologize to all who responded or read/will read this for wasting your time.

Apparently I need more than computer help. I need help with my memory.

Thanks Again everyone for your replies.

No need to apologize. No time was wasted by anyone. Sometimes we do forget things and need a friendly reminder.

I'm glad it the simple answer worked so we would not have to get into more complicated things to try.
